Meet the Team

Jake Wolfe

Jake hails from the bustling metropolis of Logan, Ohio, and is a very proud Ohio State alum. Rumor has it he once bled scarlet and gray, but then again, that’s why it’s a rumor. Jake was at one point in time an Abercrombie and Fitch fit model (where he met his wife!), which essentially means he’s a mannequin.

As a young lad Jake reached local legend status as a two-time Logan High School Punt, Pass and Kick champion and represented Hocking County in the Midwest Regionals. Unfortunately the latter part of that sentence isn’t as true as the former. Big Jake has a half-sleeve of Ohio tattoos, and although he’s always wanted to go to the state of Washington, he most definitely embodies the “Ohio Against the World” mentality.

Now enough with the fanfare, let’s get to the meat and potatoes.

Jake, what do you do at Rhinegeist?

I’m a warehouse and inventory manager; which means I do a lot of counting and organizing. I also take care of all the shipping and receiving. I spend a fair amount of the week moving two row pale malt; we’ve formed a special kinship, a deep understanding of each other.

What do you look forward to doing most everyday?

I get excited about expecting the unexpected. You can have a general understanding of how it will unfold, but there are always unanticipated nuances.

Who is your favorite person on the team?

Dennis Kramer-Wine, because he really knows how to carry, guide and mislead a conversation. Many a time have we gone from deliveries to donuts in one fell swoop.

Spirit animal?

Wolf, DUH!!!

(Foolish question in retrospect)

What’s one thing most of your co-workers don’t know about you (but now will!)?

I’ve tried home brewing a few times and I’m horrible. I am a bad, bad home brewer. I’ve never had a batch turn out well.

Anything else?!

I’ve also developed three of my very own chili recipes and own two dachshunds. They’re my little dudes.

What’s your favorite Rhinegeist beer?

I’m a totally off my rocker hop head, love Amarillo, and Simcoe so for that reason it’s Truth, because it’s so damn delicious.  I’m also a big fan of Mosaic.

If you were a Rhinegeist beer what would you be?

I’d be Pure Fury, because I feel like you’re either a huge huge fan of Fury, or not so much, kind of like me. I can be polarizing.

Piece of apparel you wear the most?

Black Rhinegeist T-shirt. Back in the day they didn’t let us wear black at Abercrombie so I think it’s my way of making up for lost time. In addition, it wonderfully hides any sweat stains.

What are you thoughts on the Buckeye State?

I’ll never leave Ohio. I’ve always been here. I’ll always be here.
