The Meet the Team series will serve as a look into the personality, quirks and quips of the Rhinegeist family.
This time around we're featuring our Dayton Sales rep who many refer to as "The Mayor of Dayton" and others just purely as "King Trev." Although his birth certificate reads Trevor Sutherland around the walls of the brewery he requests to be called "Ole Dad."
Trevor, what do you do at Rhinegeist?
I’m the Dayton Sales and Market manager. I spread the love to D-Town and try to teach young pups a thing about the business.
What do you look forward to doing most every day?
Seeing where the day takes me. Cool thing about the beer business is that you never know where you are gonna go or who you'll meet.
“What do I look like, a savage?!”
Famous Look Alike:
Johnny Depp. When guys randomly stop me on the street to tell me I look like Johnny Depp it’s probably something to take note of.
Who is your favorite person on the team?
Besides myself? I don’t like the play favorites but if I have to then Pete Fernandez, because we dress a like and he has to deal with me a lot.
The mythical hybrid of a bear and a deer, the infamous Beer. (And he’s got the tattoo to prove it!)
What’s your favorite Rhinegeist beer?
Hustle, huge fan of rye brews overall. I'm also drinking a lot of Squirrel our Nut Brown Ale. It's well crafted and true to style.
If you were a Rhinegeist beer what would you be?
I’m already Franz, next question.
Piece of apparel you wear the most?
Rhinegeist belt bucket. It was a limited release and I wear it every day!
Kinda hard to answer because I’ve been married for so long…I’m a simple man so I think watching movies on the couch sounds just about right.
Where does the beauty of the brewery lie for you?
The history of the space is wonderful and I love everyone that’s involved. We’ve got a great culture and group of individuals really making history.
What are you thoughts on the Buckeye State?
It’s home, man!
Best part of my personality:
Isn’t that more for you to judge?? I think my brutal honesty is one of my more endearing traits once people get used to it.
A traditional Rueben. It’s classic, simple, only a couple ingredients and you just can’t beat it. There’s something wonderful about fine cured meats…
What I do when I'm not 'Geisting:
I’m always Geisting — always on all the time, but this time of the year a lot of gardening and I try to get out on the motorcycle.
