Meet the Team

Josh Adams

What do you do at Rhinegeist?

Official title is Warehouse Warlock. Basically, I’ve worn a lot of hats at Rhinegeist and settled into the warehouse full time. We’ve grown by leaps and bounds since I started as the original guy and it’s some kind of magic how much our small team can make happen!

What did you have for breakfast?

I had to skip it today, but I typically have a bowl of Kroger brand raisin bran crunch and then on weekends I’m a homemade brunch guy.

So your hair is pretty long, tell me more about it…

I can’t grow a beard to save my life so I’ve committed to my own version, the hair on top. I haven’t cut my hair since February of 2014!

Aren’t you quite the jokester?

I'm always serious, even when I’m joking…I throw some corny stuff around but figured if you can’t laugh at yourself you’re not doing it right.

I’ve got a joke for you right now: the other day I saw a Latino magician on the street. He says he can disappear right before my eyes. I said, “Oh yeah, prove it.” He said, uno, dos, and poof he was gone....without a tres!

Love it! So, what do you most look forward to doing every day?

Making people laugh, man. That’s what sums it up for me.

What are some of the challenges that get thrown your way?

Last minute anythings and last minute everythings (he chuckles)—I don’t have a day to day and I like it that way. It’s the total opposite of a desk job and it keeps me engaged.

Do you have a spirit animal?

Pigmy goat.

Gotta say more about that…

Have you ever seen videos of pigmy goats online?! They’re adorable, strong, and persistent and they love climbing.

What’s your favorite Rhinegeist beer?

I’m a seasonal guy and really looking forward to having a lot of Peach Dodo.

If you were a Rhinegeist beer what would you be?

Probably Powder (White IPA) because I love the snow.

Piece of apparel you wear the most?

Definitely my navy blue zip up hoodie, I think I’ve had it since the first week.

Where does the beauty of the brewery lie for you?

There are a lot. I’ve gotten to know a lot of people from the ground up. The culture here is awesome. If it was a faceless and culture-less place I wouldn’t want to be here. Everyone is bringing their own thing to the table, just look around you, how can you not smile when you’re in here.

Ping-pong or corn hole?

Oh, corn hole because you can still hold a beer in your hand.

Nickname?

I get called a lot of stuff, but probably J Money. I didn’t pick that obviously.

Do you have a famous look alike?

When I was living in Japan I had a different haircut and was a bit bulkier. I wore a red track jacket pretty often and Burn After Reading has just come out so I would get Brad Pitt all the time.

And what’d you do about that?

I went along with it. I’d sign autographs and let people take their picture with me.

What do you do when you’re not 'Geisting?

I love, road biking, snowboarding, climbing and camping. I also play the bass when the mood strikes me.

What’s your slogan/catch phrase?

I used to say ‘no worries’ an awful lot, too much, so I’ve had to cut that back. Now I just say ‘word’ a lot.

What’s something about you most people don’t know?

I'm an only child. My parents were married with a kid by age 20, and they're still together today. It's amazing. I was also raised in part by my grandparents, and I'm fortunate enough to still have them around as well.

On average how many times do you sing in the shower per week?

Everyday and I love singing. It keeps my vocal chords healthy. If I had a theme song it would probably be ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ by The Darkness, always my go to karaoke song.
