Meet the Team

Amy Studt

*Disclosure: all bills used in the photoshoot are one dollar bills*

So Amy, what do you do at Rhinegeist?

I work with numbers! I’m the accounting manager and also do payroll so that means a lot of time working on cash flows and seeing where we’re spending.

Where are you from?

I’m from here, Cincinnati. To be more specific, Delhi, the West Side (as she cracks a smile).

How’d you get started in the world of accounting?

When I was younger someone told me that if you are good at math you should try accounting. I really like to balance things and have it all check out. I’m not a fan of ‘maybe’ as an answer.

Your daughter Lindsay has a strong presence at the brewery, what’s that like?

Oh my god, um, hectic, but good. It’s nice being able to bring my daughter to work whenever needed. And she loves the attention that everyone gives her—she also likes to revoke a lot of man cards. Going around to all the different guys here and just telling them their man card has been taken, quite the jokester. Everyone is amazing with her—where else can you work and your office manager will pick your child up from school if you are in a bind?!

What are some of the challenges that get thrown your way?

Pulling together financial information within short timeframes (she laughs)…and getting payroll together on time so that everyone gets paid. One time I forgot to submit it on time and it still scares me, because at that point I’m messing with everyone’s lives!

Spirit animal?

A cardinal. We have cardinals that come back to our yard every year and nest. They are total stress relievers and are supposed to signify a loved one that’s visiting you. They make me happy and are all around pretty great.

Where does the beauty of the brewery lie for you?

I remember coming on the soft opening night with my husband and I and it’s all right here (as she points at the tanks in the taproom space)…

What’s your favorite Rhinegeist beer?

It was Zen for a very long time and I like Andromeda (Galaxy hopped pale ale) a lot.

If you were a Rhinegeist beer or cider what would you be?

I’m not totally sure, one that starts out quiet and ends up being sassy. So maybe a Cider?! I’m kinda cider-sassy...

Piece of apparel you wear the most?

My black hoodie. It’s so comfy and goes with everything.

Perfect date?

A weekend getaway to a different city that my husband and I have never been to...and him planning it all.

Nickname?

Here I have a few nicknames. I get Amy Lou, Amy 1 or Full Time. Amy 1 is because we have 3 "Amy’s" in the accounting department—really two women named Amy but the third guy on board was just deemed Amy 3—and Full Time is because when the second Amie came on she was only part time.

What’s the best part of your personality?

As I get older I start caring less about the little things and being willing to let that stuff slide. At least that’s how I aspire to be. I also have learned the importance of being there more for others.

 What’s your favorite sandwich?

So, Quiznos down on 4th street had a sandwich that’s no longer on the menu but they still make it for me—it’s a parmesan and peppercorn turkey sandwich

What’s your best dish in the kitchen?

Oh c'mon, the person that doesn’t cook and you ask me that?! Lindsay calls it the ‘best dinner ever.’ It’s spaghetti noodles with grilled chicken and cheddar cheese. I suck at cooking!

On average how many times do you sing in the shower per week?

I don’t sing in the shower but I do in the car. It’s usually whatever is on the radio so a lot of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber because of Lindsay. Oh yeah, and Meghan Trainor; Lindsay’s number one song is ‘No’ right now.
