Lagerstätten
Lager
6% ABV
This experimental Lager beer was inspired by conversations with the Cincinnati Museum Center. The name comes from the German name for a sediment layer (Lagerstätte) packed with fossils - common around here in Cincy.
Mineral-forward mouthfeel (added chalk (CaCO3) and salt (NaCl) to mimic an "oyster/oyster stout" profile). Feels medium/full-bodied, without being sweet. Low to medium bitterness, but fairly hop-forward. This lager had late additions/dry-hop of Talus and Glacier. The Talus brings a tropical fruity (grapefruit and mango) character unexpected for a lager. The glacier hops are floral-forward, with a hint of lemon.
